Saprobic or pathogenic on stems and leaves of herbaceous or woody plants in terrestrial habitats.Sexual morph: undetermined. Asexual morph: Conidiomata100–250 μm wide, pycnidial, immersed to semi-immersed, globose to subglobose, black with one or two distinct ostiole. Ostiole sometimes papillate or with elongated neck.Conidiomata wall composed of several layersof cells of textura angularis. Conidiogenous cells phialidic, subglobose to short conical. Conidia hyaline, aseptate, oblong to ellipsoidal.Sclerotia sometimes produced (van der and Kesteren 1979).
