Etymology: referring to the collecting site of a small stream.

Saprobic on decaying submerged wood in freshwater. Asexual morph: Colonies on natural substrate effuse, hairy, scattered or in small group, brown, with glistening conidial masses at apex. Mycelium partly superficial, partly immersed, composed of septate, smooth, pale brown hyphae. Conidiophores macronematous, mononematous, erect, solitary or in small group, straight or flexuous, cylindrical, smooth-walled, septate, often branched, dark brown, becoming pale brown or subhyaline towards the apex, thick-walled, 190–465 × 3.5–10 µm ( = 330 × 5.7 µm, n = 20). Conidiogenous cells polyblastic, integrated, sympodially proliferating, terminal, later becoming intercalary, cylindrical, wavy on the surface, pale brown or subhyaline, 12.5–40 × 3–4.7 µm ( = 24.5 × 3.7 µm, n = 20). Conidia acropleurogenous, aggregated in slimy masses, clavate, with a narrow truncate base, aseptate when young, 1–4-septate when mature, smooth, guttulate, hyaline to subhyaline, (12.7–)15–23 × 2.6–4.7 µm ( = 18.7 × 3.8 µm, n = 50), thin-walled. Conidial secession schizolytic. Sexual morph: Undetermined.
