Saprobic on decaying submerged wood in freshwater. Asexual morph: Colonies on natural substrate effuse, hairy, scattered or in small group, brown, with glistening conidial masses at apex. Mycelium partly superficial, partly immersed, composed of septate, smooth, pale brown hyphae. Conidiophores macronematous, mononematous, erect, solitary or in small group, straight or flexuous, cylindrical, smooth-walled, septate, unbranched, dark brown or mid brown, becoming pale brown or subhyaline towards the apex, thick-walled, 120–230 × 3–7.6 µm ( = 162 × 4.8 µm, n = 30). Conidiogenous cells polyblastic, integrated, sympodially proliferating, terminal becoming intercalary, cylindrical, pale brown or subhyaline, 11.5–34 × 2.5–4 µm, with inconspicuous conidiogenous loci. Conidia acropleurogenous, aggregated in slimy masses, clavate, with a narrow truncate base, hyaline, aseptate when immature, 1–3-septate at maturity, smooth, guttulate, hyaline, 10.5–20.5 × 2.4–4.8 µm ( = 14.5 × 3.5 µm, n = 50), thin-walled, sometimes slightly constricted at septa, Conidial secession schizolytic. Sexual morph: Undetermined.
