Type species – Striatosphaeria codinaeaphora Samuels & E. Müll.

Notes – The monotypic genus Striatosphaeria was based on lignicolous fungus S. codinaeaphora which was isolated from the bark of an unidentified dead tree, in Brazil (Samuels & Müller (1978). The genus is characterised by ostiolate ascomata seated on a small, basal stroma, 4– 8-spored, cylindrical asci and 1-septate, brown, ascospores without appendages.
