NotesChaetopreussia is a monotypic genus that is compatible with the family concepts of Sporormiaceae by its morphological characteristics. The genus was found associated with camel dung collected from the central Sahara (Locquin-Linard 1977). Chaetopreussia is characterized by its cleistothecioid ascomata covered with brown setae; 3-septate ascospores, brown without germ slits (Kruys & Wedin 2009). Asexual morph has not been reported. The molecular data of the type species, C. chadefaudii are required for the confirmation of its taxonomic placement.
