Synonym – Arthrocatena Egidi & Selbmann, Fungal Diversity 65: 159. 2014. Nom. inval., Art. 40.7 (Shenzhen).

Etymology – Named after dark, arthric conidia in chains.

Description – Colonies growing slowly, dark, velvety, compact; hyphae torulose to dark brown, branched, developing longitudinal and oblique septa producing arthroconidia by disarticulation. Conidia dark brown, thick-walled, sometimes with a median septum. Sexual Morph: unknown.

Type species – Arthrocatena tenebrosa Egidi & Selbmann.
