Type species – Apiosporopsis carpinea (Fr.) Mariani

Notes – Traverso (1906) erected Apiosporopsis and Mariani (1911) designated A. carpinea as the type species. Currently Apiosporopsis comprises three species: A. carpinea, A. coronillae and A. saccardoana (Senanayake et 2018, Index Fungorum 2020). Senanayake et al. (2017b) illustrated A. carpinea from Austria (IMI 11662), by the ascospore morphology of this collection (IMI 57187) is quite different to A. carpinea, A. coronillae and A. saccardoana. The collection we illustrated here has ascospores with a central septum and apical and basal ends with pores.
