NotesUlospora is a monotypic genus characterized in having subglobose, carbonaceous ascomata, lacking ostioles, asci that are ovoid to pyriform and ellipsoidal, dark brown, 1-septate ascospores with 3–6 fissures and germ slits (Hawksworth 1979). It was reported from terrestrial and marine habitats, sediments and plant materials (see Zhang et al. 2008b, phylogeny), Lumbsch & Huhndorf (2010, outline), Kirk et al. (2013, genus accepted), Jaklitsch et al. (2016a, classification), and Wijayawardene et al. (2018, outline). Cultures and molecular data are available for this genus.
