Colonies hypophyllous, amphigenous, visible as black dots. Hyphae superficial, brown, branched. Sexual morph: Thyriothecia up to 180 μm in diam., dense, grouped, circular, black, with a central circular ostiole. Upper wall dark brown, comprising radial arrangement, meandrous, compact hyphae, lacking a basal plate. Asci 23–37 × 11–20 μm (x̄ = 30 × 14 μm, n = 15), 8-spored, bitunicate, ellipsoid to clavate, orcular chamber not observed. Ascospores 7–14 × 3–4.5 μm (x̄ = 11 × 4 μm, n = 20), overlapping, 2–3 series, cylindrical, 3-septate, constricted at the middle septum, hyaline. Asexual morph: Undetermined.
Material examined – Philippines, Palawan, Taytay; on leaves of Dendrobii sp., 12 May 1913, Merrill E. D. No. 8909 (S F6523, holotype).
