Scleroramularia Batzer & Crous, Fungal Diversity 46: 58 (2011)
Notes – The genus was established with Scleroramularia pomigena Batzer & Crous in 2011 as the type species and characterized as forming black sclerotial bodies in culture and producing chains of hyaline conidia which do not disarticulate readily (Li et al. 2011). Species of Scleroramularia are ectophytic parasites causing sooty blotch and flyspeck on the surface of fruits including apple, pawpaw and Japanese banana (Gleason et al. 2019). Six species have been reported: S. abundans Batzer, Mayfield & Crous, S. asiminae Batzer, Hemnani & Crous, S. henaniensis G.Y. Sun, H.Y. Li & Crous, S. pomigena Batzer & Crous, S. shaanxiensis G.Y. Sun, H.Y. Li & Crous and S. musae G.Y. Sun & L. Gao (Li et al. 2011; Gao et al. 2015).
