Readeriellopsis differs from Readeriella in having phialidic conidiogenesis, aggregated, with somewhat papillate conidiomata, while Readeriella has phialides with percurrent proliferation, and separate, apapillate conidiomata (Crous et al. 2015c). Phylogenetic placement of this genus within Capnodiaceae was supported in analyses of Crous et al. (2015c). The genus was treated as incertae sedis in Capnodiales by Wijayawardene et al. (2016a, 2017a). However, Readerielliopsis forms a lineage within Capnodiaceae in Wijayawardene et al. (2016a) and our analyses (Fig. 3). Therefore, we accept this genus in Capnodiaceae.
