Etymology – The generic name emphasizes the morphological similarities with the lichenicolous genus Didymocyrtis.
Diagnosis – Diagnosis: Differs from species of Kalmusia by its the lichenicolous life style, asci with a much shorter pedicel and a strongly thickened apical apparatus and an evident apical cushion, and paler, golden-brown to brown ascospores, K+ dark olivaceous-brown.
