Notes – Three terrestrial species of Peridiothelia collected from Europe and distinguished primarily by ascospore size are accepted in this genus (Hawksworth 1985). Initially the genus was placed in Phaeosphaeriaceae (Eriksson & Hawksworth 1991) but later transferred to Pleomassariaceae (Barr 1992a).
