Type speciesPedumispora rhizophorae K.D. Hyde & E.B.G. Jones

NotesPedumispora was introduced by Hyde & Jones (1992) to accommodate a fungus from mangrove habitats. A phylogenetic study based on nuclear LSU and ITS regions showed the taxonomic position of Pedumispora was in Diatrypaceae (Klaysuban et al. 2014). The genus is characterised by 8-spored, fusiform, pedicellate, unitunicate, apically truncate asci. Ascospores are filiform, mutli-septate, curved, longitudinally striate, with tapering poles, with one or both ends crook-like (Hyde & Jones 1992).
