Saprobic on decaying, submerged wood in freshwater habitats. Asexual morph: Undetermined. Sexual morph: Ascomata 198–302 μm high, 325–430 μm wide, mostly grouped, immersed to semi-immersed, subglobose, ostiolate, papillate. Ascomatal wall 15–30 μm thick, composed of dark brown, thick-walled, polygonal cells of textura angularis, poorly developed at the base. Pseudoparaphyses numerous, 1.4–2.5 μm ( = 1.6 μm, n = 20) wide. Asci 8-spored, broadly cylindrical to clavate, short stalked, 82–161 × 33–47 μm ( = 126 × 38 μm, n = 20). Ascospores fusiform, hyaline, 3–5-septate, mostly 4-septate, slightly constricted at the septa, 50–62 × 8–13.5 μm ( = 55 × 12 μm, n = 20), guttulate, smooth-walled, with a narrowly mucilaginous sheath.
