NotesOvatospora was introduced by Wang et al. (2016a) to accommodate O. brasiliensis, O. medusarum, O. mollicella, O. pseudomollicella, O. senegalensis, and O. unipora. The genus is characterised by superficial, subglobose or ovate ascomata, ostiolate, with brown walls of cells of textura angularis.
