Type species: Leptorhaphis oxyspora (Nyl.) Körb., Syst. lich. germ. (Breslau): 371 (1855).

Verrucaria oxyspora Nyl., Bot. Notiser: 179 (1852).

Notes: Leptorhaphis occurs on bark, with a high level of host-specificity (Aguirre-Hudson 1991, 2009; Aguirre- Hudson et al. 2002). This genus has been considered as saprotrophic and non lichen-forming (Vainio 1921a; Swinscow 1965a; Harris 1973, 1995; Aguirre-Hudson and Hawksworth 1987). One species is lichenicolous (Kalb et al. 1995), while some species are associated with algae (Swinscow 1965a; Aguirre-Hudson 1991, 2009; Aguirre-Hudson and Fiol 1993; Aguirre-Hudson et al. 2002). This genus has been placed in Naetrocymbaceae by Harris (1995), Aguirre-Hudson et al. (2002), and Doilom et al. (2018). However, Harris (1995) mentioned that Leptorhaphis differs from other genera in Naetrocymbaceae based on the characters of hamathecium, asci, and macroconidia.
