NotesCastanediella was introduced by Crous et al. (2015c) and placed in Xylariales genera incertae sedis. The genus is characterized by a hyphomycetous asexual morph with branched or unbranched conidiophores, mono- to polyblastic conidiogenous cells and straight to slightly curved, 0–1-septate conidia. The species are commonly isolated from leaf litter, leaf spots and wood. Currently, the genus comprises 16 species (Crous et al. 2015c, 2016a, b, 2018c, Hernández- Restrepo et al. 2016b, 2017, Wanasinghe et al. 2018, Hyde et al. 2019a, Lin et al. 2019a).
