Index Fungorum number: IF 900588; MycoBank number: MB 900588; Facesoffungi number: FoF 14227

Basionym – Porotheleum domingense Angelini, Vizzini, Consiglio & M. Marchetti, in Consiglio et al., Micologia 64 (2): 163, 2022.

Holotype – Dominican Republic, Sosúa (Puerto Plata Province), Puerto Chiquito, 8 December 2013, leg. C. Angelini (JBSD 131801).

Notes – Both species share a lot of similarities to identical morphological features. However, Vizzinia domingense seems to possesses a strictly omphalinoid shape of basidiomata, while appearance of V. nigripes was described as omphalinoid-clitocyboid-marasmioid (Consiglio et al. 2022). Phylogenetically, V. nigripes is relatively distant from V. domingense. More collections need to explain the taxonomical position and limitation of the genus Vizzinia.
