NotesTamsiniella was introduced by Wong et al. (1998c) to accommodate the freshwater fungus T. labiosa (Wong et al. 1998c). The genus can be distinguished by dark brown, immersed to semi-immersed, subglobose ascomata, with periphyses, papillate, thin-walled, pale brown peridium, paraphyses, 8-spored, unitunicate, cylindrical asci, with an unusual J-, lip-like, refractive apical ring, and hyaline, ellipsoidal-fusiform, aseptate ascospores, with narrow, roughed mucilaginous sheath (Wong et al. 1998c, Phookamsak et al. 2019).
