Notes – The genus Talaromyces was described by Benjamin (1955) and is the largest genus in Trichocomaceae with ca. 203 species (Houbraken et al. 2020; Visagie et al. 2024). Phylogenetic relationships of infrageneric taxa have been more objectively elucidated. The latest classification system shows that the genus comprises eight sections, Bacillispori Yilmaz et al., Helici Yilmaz et al., Islandici Yilmaz et al., Purpurei Stolk & Samson, Subinflat Yilmaz et al., Talaromyces, Trachispermi Yaguchi & Udagawa, and Tenues Sun et al. (Yilmaz et al. 2014; Sun et al. 2020).
