Typus: Malaysia, Sabah, from leaves of Eucalyptus pellita (Myrtaceae), May 2015, M.J. Wingfield (holotype CBS H-23085, ex-type living culture CBS 142522 = CPC 27678); ibid., culture CPC 27682.
Notes: The holotype of Peyronellaea eucalypti was described from leaves of Eucalyptus pellita collected in Sabah, Malaysia (Crous et al. 2017a). Based on the phylogenetic analysis of the ITS gene, two isolates of Pe. eucalypti (CBS 142522 and CPC 27682) were phylogenetically related to Didymella glomerata (Crous et al. 2017a). However, in the multigene analysis these isolates formed an independent lineage distant from Peyronellaea (currently: Didymella). Consequently, Pseudo- peyronellaea was introduced as a new genus to accommodate this taxon.
