Pseudocanariomyces    Can˜ete-Gibas,    Wiederhold, Sanders, Ryan & Sosa gen. nov.

Etymology: Refers to its morphological resemblance to the genus Canariomyces.

Description: —Ascomata cleistothecial, solitary, globose to subglobose, ascomatal wall semitranslucent to brown, with textura angularis and textura epidermoidea. Asci 8-spored, evanescent, globose to pyriform, with no visible stalk. Ascospores one-celled, ellipsoidal to fusiform, smooth and dark brown with distinct germ pore. Conidia sessile, chrysosporium- like, laterally produced on aerial, subhyaline to pigmented hyphae, obovoid to clavate.

Type species: Pseudocanariomyces americanus Can˜ete-Gibas, Wiederhold, Sanders, Ryan & Sosa.

Notes: – This genus is morphologically indistin- guishable from the species of Canariomyces and Stolonocarpus, but can be phylogenetically defined by ITS, TUB2 and RPB2 markers (Fig. 1).
