Etymology: The generic epithet ‘‘Neodictyosporium’’ refers to the resemblance to Dictyosporium.

Saprobic on dead leaves petiole of Macaranga tanarius.

Sexual morph: Undetermined.

Asexual morph: Conidiomata pycnidial, on the upper surface of the petiole, solitary, scattered, superficial, globose to subglobose, black. Peridium thin at the apex, composed of brown to black thin-walled cells of textura angularis. Conidiogenous cells holoblastic, integrated, smooth, brown, producing a branched conidium at the tip, cup-shaped or doliiform. Conidia two types, Type I: dictyosporous, light brown, regularly consisting of 5–6 rows of cells, each row comprising 6 cells; Type II: clavate to obovoid, acrogenous, hyaline to sub-hyaline, 3-septate, guttulate, smooth-walled.
