Etymology: Name reflects its morphological similarity to Canalisporium

Saprobic on submerged decaying wood. Sexual morph: Undetermined. Asexual morph: Colonies on substratum superficial, scattered, black, shining, granulate. Mycelium immersed, composed of hyaline, branched, septate, smooth, hyphae. Conidiomata sporodochial, subhyaline. Conidiophores semi-micronematous to macronematous, mononematous, fasciculate, simple or branched, hyaline, smooth.  Conidiogenous cells monoblastic, integrated, terminal, determinate, hyaline, smooth. Conidia acrogenous, solitary, smooth, thick-walled, ellipsoidal to obovoid, rounded at apex, muriform, with thick septate, daker and slightly constricted at the septa, subhyaline to pale brown when young, olive to dark brown at maturity.
