Etymology: The specific epithet refers to equilateral ascospores.

Saprobic on undetermined dead twigs and pinecone. Sexual morph: Apothecia 500−1000 µm high, 1000−2000 µm broad, scattered, shallowly cupulate when fresh, turbinate when dry, broadly stipitate, glabrous. Stipe 400−1500 µm long, 500−2000 µm broad, central, funnel-shaped, wrinkled on surface, solid, cream, rarely yellowish. Receptacle shallowly cupulate, receptacle surface yellowish to orange, margin undulate. Disc shallowly concave to discoid, concolorous with the receptacle surface. Stipitipellis 62−166 µm, of textura angulari, hyaline, comprised of 14−20 × 8−12 μm cells, mixed with textura prismatica, 18−25 × 9−12 µm, with an outermost cell of textura porrecta, composed of 4−6 µm cells, J-. Ectal excipulum 56−94 µm broad, of textura angularis to textura globulosa, hyaline to yellowish, 14−22 × 9−13 μm, mixed with textura prismatica, 19−25 × 9−13 µm, with an outermost of textura porrecta, composed of 4−6 µm cells, J-. Medullary excipulum 76−192 µm broad, of textura intricata, hyaline, composed of 4−6 µm broad hyphae. Hymenium 280−310 µm broad, yellowish, paraphyses exceeding the asci sightly. Paraphyses 2−3 µm broad in the middle, filiform, branched, septate, with yellowish contents, J-. Asci 235−284 × 10−13 µm, 8-spored, terminally operculate, subcylindrical, obtuse apexes, becoming narrow towards the base, J-. Ascospores [20/1/1, in H2O] (14.8−)16.2−18.6(−19.2) × (12.4−)10.3−11.6(−9.9) µm (Q = 1.41−1.78 µm, Q = 1.59 ± 0.14 µm), ellipsoid, with round or slightly truncated ends, equilateral, rarely slightly inequilateral with one side flat, uniseriate, multiguttulate when young, biguttulate when mature, smooth-walled, sheath-like structure appears in 10% KOH.
