Saprobic on decaying submerged wood in freshwater. Asexual morph: Colonies on natural substrate effuse, hairy, scattered, brown, with glistening conidial masses at apex. Mycelium partly superficial, partly immersed, composed of septate, smooth, pale brown to hyaline hyphae. Conidiophores macronematous, mononematous, erect, solitary, straight or slightly flexuous, cylindrical, smooth-walled, septate, unbranched, dark brown or mid brown, becoming paler towards the apex, 210–270 × 5.2–6.2 µm, 7.3–10 µm wide near the base. Conidiogenous cells monophialidic, integrated, terminal, long lageniform, broad at the upper part and narrower at the apex, brown, 40–48.5 × 7.4–9 µm. Conidia acrogenous, aggregated in slimy masses, cylindrical-ellipsoidal, hyaline, aseptate when immature, 3-septate at maturity, smooth, guttulate, 19.5–26 × 5.8–7.8 µm ( = 21.8 × 6.9 µm, n = 20), with an excentric, lateral protuberance of the basal cell.
