Notes – Tanaka & Harada (2005b) established Katumotoa to accommodate the monotypic species, K. bambusicola which was collected in Japan. The genus is characterized by immersed ascomata with a thin peridium comprising thin-walled compressed cells, cellular pseudoparaphyses, cylindric-clavate and fissitunicate asci and fusoid ascospores with an elongated bipolar mucilaginous sheath.
