Basionym: Gangliostilbe malabarica Subram. & Bhat, Kavaka 15(1-2): 54 (1987)

Colonies effuse, dark brown, hairy. Mycelium mostly immersed in the substratum. Synnemata arising singly, rarely in pairs, on the surface of the substratum, erect, with the stalk consisting of compact aggregation of parallel hyphae, terminating in fertile beads, with stalks dark brown and fertile heads brown, 650–950 (750) µm tall, up to 62 µm wide at the base, 27–32 µm wide in the middle. Conidiophores constituting the free ends of the hyphae of the synnema, branched, percurrrently proliferating at the tip up to 4 times, septate, smooth, light brown, divergent in the apical part of the synnema forming a loose clavate head up to 135 µm wide and 45–55 µm high. Conidiogenous cells producing conidia singly at the tip, integrated, subhyaline, smooth, 10–15 × 5–6 µm. Conidia gangliar, fusiform, elongated, rounded at the tip, truncate at the base, broader in the middle, up to 17-euseptate, slightly constricted at septa, light brown, with a conspicuous oblong guttule in each cell, smooth, thick-walled, 27–58(48) × 7–10 µm.
