Notes – Erythrocarpon was introduced by Zukal (1886) as a monotypic genus to accommodate a species, Erythrocarpon microstomum, found on rotten branches in Hütteldorf, Austria. The genus is characterised by cylindrical, 8-spored asci and the asexual morph is characterised by spindle-shaped conidia, with 3 transverse septa.
