Tulasne & Tulasne (1861) introduced the name Erysiphei, with the detailed discussion and description, which was later, interpreted as Erysiphaceae and used in the taxonomic literature of powdery mildews (Braun & Cook 2012, Braun 2017). Erysiphaceae comprises 20 genera, Arthrocladiella, Blumeria, Brasiliomyces, Bulbomicroidium, Caespitotheca, Cystotheca, Erysiphe, Golovinomyces, Leveillula, Microidium, Neoerysiphe, Parauncinula, Phyllactinia, Pleochaeta, Podosphaera, Pseudoidium, Queirozia, Sawadaea, Takamatsuella, and Typhulochaeta (Wijayawardene et al. 2020).
