Notes – Drepanopeziza is a compact and widespread genus within the Dermateaceae family, belonging to Leotiales. Noteworthy for its homogeneity, this genus exhibits a cosmopolitan distribution. Significant attention has been devoted to studying Drepanopeziza species, particularly those pathogenic to poplars (Rimpau et al. 1962, Gremmen et al. 1965). The taxonomic landscape of Drepanopeziza has seen debates and considerations, particularly regarding the synonyms of D. brunnea. Before 2017, this species was commonly classified within the genus Marssonina. However, it differs morphologically from the type species of Marssonina, M. potentillae. Rossman (2017) identified it as belonging to the genus Drepanopeziza (Rossman et al. 2017).
