Cystoderma Fayod.
Notes – The genus Cystoderma Fayod, typified by C. amianthinum (Scop.) Fayod, was established in 1889. It belongs to the family Squamanitaceae within the order Agaricales (Vizzini et al. 2019; Kalichman et al. 2020; Liu et al. 2021a). Members of the Cystoderma genus are commonly found in forest ecosystems, thriving in open areas on soil, among mosses and litter, and some species even grow on rotten wood (Saar 2012; Li et al. 2022a). Morphologically, Cystoderma species are distinguished by their basidiomata, which usually have heavy universal veil remnants. These basidiomata may have an evanescent floccose-scalyring zone or a well-developed persistent membranous ring. Furthermore, the basidiospores of Cystoderma species are weakly to strongly amyloid (Saar 2012; Li et al. 2022a; Liu et al. 2023).
