Cinnabaria Wilk, Pabijan & Lücking, gen. nov.

Type species: Cinnabaria boliviana Wilk & Lücking.
Diagnosis: Thallus areolate, sublobate at margin, pale yellow orange. Apothecia immersed, disc red, contrasting against the thallus. Ascospores polarilocular, medium-sized with thin septa, 2.0‒3.5 µm thick. Similar to the members of “Caloplaca” cinnabarina group but differs in larger thallus, apothecia, and ascopores.
Etymology: The genus name refers to similarities to the members of the “Caloplaca” cinnabarina group sensu Wetmore and Kärnefelt (1999).
Distribution: The genus is so far known only from Bolivia.
Notes: – So far, Cinnabaria boliviana is the only species included in the genus.
