Etymology. Referring to the greenish-blue ostiole.

Type species. Callainostiolum taiwanense Marasinghe, Hongsanan , C.H. Kuo & K.D Hyde.

Description. Epiphytes on living leaves appearing as blackened areas surrounded by yellow patches, single to confluent without superficial mycelium. Sexual morph: Ascomata solitary, scattered, black to dark brown, soft, rounded, dome-like in section with 2–3-locules. Ostiole greenish-blue, opening in an irregular manner, becomes slimy mass when place in water. Paraphyses present. Asci 8-spored, bitunicate, cylindrical to clavate, short pedicellate. Ascospores uniseriate, overlapping, hyaline, ovoid to clavate, 3-septate, highly constricted at the septum, verrucose wall. Asexual morph: Undetermined.
