Type species – Bussabanomyces longisporus (Bussaban) Klaubauf, M.-H. Lebrun & Crous
Notes – Bussabanomyces longispora (≡ Pyricularia longispora) was isolated as an endophyte from leaves of Amomum siamense. The genus is characterized by macronematous conidiophores, cylindrical and denticulate conidiogenous cells, obclavate hyaline to pale brown, 4(–5)-septate conidia. The sexual morph has not been reported (Klaubauf et al. 2014). Bussabanomyces is morphologically similar to Pyricularia, however, it is distinct in its unbranched conidiophores and terminal conidiogenous cells giving rise to 4(–5)-septate, pale brown conidia (Bussaban et al. 2003, Klaubauf et al. 2014).
