Arthrobotrys eryuanensis F. Zhang, X.Y. Yang & K. D. Hyde, sp. nov. FIGURE 1.

MycoBank number: MB; Index Fungorum number: IF; Facesoffungi number: FoF 10760;

Etymology: The species name “eryuanensis” refers to the name of sample collection site: Eryuan county, Dali City, Yunnan Province, China.

Description: Colonies on PDA white, cottony, growing rapidly, reaching a colony diameter of 50 mm after 7 days incubation at 26°C. Mycelium colorless, composed of septate, branched, smooth hyphae. Conidiophores hyaline, erect, septate, branched, producing 2–10 short polyblastic denticles at the apex, with each denticle bearing a single holoblastic conidium, 110–308 µm (x̅= 213.5 µm, n = 50) long, 2.5–4.5 µm (x̅ = 3.2 µm, n = 50) wide at the base, gradually tapering upwards to a width of 1.5–3µm (x̅ = 2.2 µm, n = 50) at the apex. Conidia two types: Macroconidia hyaline, smooth, clavate, elongate-pyriform, some slightly curved, broadly rounded at apex, truncate at base, 1-septate near the center, 18–44.5 × 5–11.5 µm (x̅ = 28.4 × 8.7 μm, n = 50). Microconidia hyaline, smooth, clavate or drop-shaped, aseptate, broadly rounded at apex, truncate at papillate bulged base, 7.5–28 × 4–11 µm (x̅ = 17.6 × 8.6 μm, n = 50). Chlamydospore hyaline, smooth, cylindrical, in chains when present, 7–18.5 × 3.5–8 µm (x̅ = 10.7 ×5.8 μm, n = 50). Capturing nematodes with adhesive network.

Material examined: CHINA, Yunnan Province, Dali City, Eryuan county, Xihu Lake, from freshwater sediment, 20 June 2014, Z.Z. Zhu. (CGMCC3.19715, holotype!).
